The destruction of student art at Carlsbad High School is getting national attention.
The artwork was part of a class project. The assignment was to use art to address social issues, but someone complained about some of the content and the school district ordered the art be removed.
The student artists say now their rights are being trampled.
KRQE News 13 has learned the Youth Free Expression Program, a national coalition against censorship, is looking into the case.
The organization says it will reach out to the school to see if a resolution can be reached.
