MVD updates requirements for driver’s authorization card

New Mexico

MVD has reduced the requirements for obtaining a driver’s authorization card.

It comes as a result of the lawsuit filed against the state, saying they were breaking the law and making the process over burdensome.

Under the revised rules announced Friday, one document can be used to prove both identity and age, and the list of qualifying documents has been expanded.

MVD will also expand the list of documents it will accept to prove residence.

You will still need to provide proof you are an American citizen, or in the country legally if you want a regular driver’s license.
