The District Attorney is dropping homicide charges against the man accused of killing his girlfriend.
Santa Fe Police arrested Jose Calabaza over the weekend after they found Miranda Tenorio dead at a Motel 6.
Police say they took Calabaza into custody based on the information they had at the time.
However, the Santa Fe County District Attorney’s Office says there isn’t enough evidence to prove there was a crime or charge Calabaza. They say the initial OMI reports show no apparent signs of trauma.
They say the charges can be refiled depending on what the full autopsy shows.
