More dogs roaming the Mescalero Apache Reservation have been rescued.
KRQE News 13 reported earlier this week about the efforts to bring in the 30 dogs, to get them off the dangerous highways, and prevent them from being euthanized.
Animal Village New Mexico teamed up with the Bissell Pet Foundation to create space for the dogs at their shelter in Alamogordo.
Tuesday, rescuers finally tracked down more than a half dozen others – a mama dog and eight puppies.
Mom had to have more than 100 porcupine quills removed, and had to be treated for other health problems, but is now recovering.
