It’s a happy ending to the case of the missing tortoise in Roswell.

“Dusty” is home, safe and sound.

The 100-pound tortoise disappeared on Feb. 16 when the wind blew open the gate to his yard.

News of the missing tortoise soon spread around the community and on social media, with the owner, Angel Mjellei, pleading for his safe return. Then, last Saturday, two weeks after he disappeared, Dusty was found roaming around a farm about a mile away.

The Roswell Daily News Reports, the woman at the farm didn’t even know the tortoise was missing and sent pictures to a friend in Arizona. It was actually that friend who recognized the beloved pet from news reports.

The woman who found Dusty declined to accept the $500 reward.
