Mescalero Conservation Department rescues elk from well

New Mexico

MESCALERO, N.M. (KRQE)- An elk is doing okay after finding itself in a slippery situation in Mescalero. This comes after it somehow climbed into a large well.

Wednesday, the Mescalero Conservation Department posted a video of officers hoisting the bull over the edge. The animal appears a little disoriented at first but quickly regains its footing and trots away.

Conservation Officers removed this Bull Elk from one of the wells today. It got a bit western out there but they got the job done and the elk was very happy!Outstanding job guys!!
