Police have identified the man killed by police in Las Cruces.

Police say officers responded to a disturbance at a home on Arlington Avenue late Friday night.

After arriving, they say an officer was injured by a 29-year-old James Bishop.

They did not clarify what kind of injuries, but KRQE News 13 is told they are non-life threatening.

Another officer then shot and killed Bishop.

The officer who shot the man is on standard administrative leave.
