The teen accused of opening fire in a Clovis library, killing two people, will not be moved to an adolescent treatment facility
According to the Eastern New Mexico News, 17-year-old Nathaniel Jouett is accused of opening fire at the Clovis-Carver Public Library last year, killing two librarians and injuring four other people.
His attorney was asking that he be transferred to the Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Facility.
According to the newspaper, Judge James Hudson denied the request last week saying it would impede the need to detain Jouett.
On Friday, Hudson approved the state’s motion for pretrial detention.
A status conference hearing is scheduled for May 21.
