New Mexicans joined the nation in coming together for the victims of the deadly shootings in New Zealand.
It’s been one week since a gunman opened fire at two mosques and killed 50 people. The Dar Al-Salam Foundation and the Islamic Center of Albuquerque hosted a multi-faith memorial service honoring those victims.
Several political leaders attended the event, including Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Mayor Tim Keller and Congresswoman Deb Haaland. They had one strong message.
“We must work to conquer it. We must pray our way through the hate that poisons our societal well, and as I started with, we must, in fact, love one another,“ said Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.
Police say a suspected white supremacist was behind the attack
