Investigators pretended to be a young girl when they busted a state cop charged with drug trafficking.
San Juan County deputies began investigating 33-year-old Daniel Capehart last month.
A criminal complaint says a teen reported getting inappropriate text messages from the officer after meeting him during a traffic stop.
The girl gave her cellphone to the sheriff’s office. They kept communicating with Capehart and asked him for drugs.
He was arrested Friday.
Detectives say he admitted to stealing pot and meth seized during arrests, planning to give them to the teen.
