The influx of illegal immigrants into the U.S. through New Mexico is prompting Border Patrol to release some of them.

Border Patrol officials say Antelope Wells and other areas in New Mexico are seeing groups of 300 or more crossing on a regular basis. They’re struggling to find enough room for all of them. For that reason, they say will be processing the immigrants and then releasing them pending a future court hearing.

Border Patrol has already closed interior border checkpoints in order to re-assign the agents there to help at the border where the crossers are coming in. No word when those might reopen.
