Health officials work to keep measles out of New Mexico

New Mexico

Health officials are preparing for any possible outbreak of measles in New Mexico.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, medical professions say the risk for an outbreak is climbing. This is due to the number of children receiving exemptions from getting routine immunizations.

The last reported case of measles in New Mexico was in 2014. Officials are urging people to get a vaccination and report suspected cases immediately.
