Thirty-seven organizations are now calling on the Fish and Wildlife Service to free two Mexican gray wolves.

The groups have written a letter to the federal agency after it captured the endangered wolves in the Gila National Forests. They are also looking for a third wolf.

Ranchers nearby have reported several livestock killings and believe the wolves are responsible. In the letter, the groups say capturing the wolves threatens their recovery in the wild.
