Google has restored a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation ad after initially rejecting it for animal cruelty.
It shows a former foundation board member on a muzzleloader elk hunt in New Mexico. The ad promotes the foundation’s values including conservation and game management, which ensures elk, deer and other animals continue to flourish.
Last month, the ad was taken down after Google claimed hunting practices were inappropriate for its network. Congressional members then intervened, and Google took a second look, finding there is no policy prohibiting hunting ads and calling the rejection a mistake.
The foundation has more than 500 chapters nationwide, including one in Albuquerque.
