Gold Star Mothers remember New Mexicans killed in action since 9/11

New Mexico

Tuesday a ceremony at the New Mexico State Fair remembered New Mexicans who have lost their lives since September 11.

Each year the New Mexico Gold Start Mothers host a reading of the names of military members killed in action since the “War on Terror” began following the attacks.

Organizers say it’s important to remember not only the events of Sept. 11, but what came after.

This year the event focused on members of the US Navy.

The names of 97 New Mexicans were read.
