Wildlife officials have rescheduled their restoration effort of the Gila trout.

The Game and Fish Department was planning to remove non-native trout from Whitewater Creek in the Gila National Forest back in June.

Officials say due to water conditions the restoration efforts will now begin July 10 and 11.

Once the invasive species is gone, the Department will reintroduce the native Gila trout.

Officials say the chemicals will not harm the public.

The area will be closed on those days.
