Generous donation given to UNM program, will enhance cancer education

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico received a generous donation from the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

According to The Daily Lobo, the university's Comadre a Comadre program was recently gifted $25,000 to expand and enhance their service.

Comadre a Comadre is devoted to serving Hispanic women and their loved ones through advocacy and information about breast health and breast cancer.

The group was one of just 12 programs chosen from a nationwide application.

They say the funding will provide educational classes to at least 300 women in need.
