Federal regulators are set to hear concerns about a proposal to build a nuclear waste storage facility in southeast New Mexico.
Holtec International wants to construct the $2.4 billion facility about 35 miles east of Carlsbad.
The first step is the hearing which is scheduled for Wednesday, January 23.
It’s open to the public and will begin at 9 a.m. at the State Bar of New Mexico near Jefferson and Masthead.
