A local father who got stuck in snow with his children for days is thanking the community for helping get them home safe.

Cutter Rogers and his three kids left for an elk hunt last Wednesday near Cloudcroft, but never returned to their hotel.

Search crews and other hunters spent two days searching for the family.

Just before noon on Friday, all four were discovered in his truck near the Curtis Canyon area, alive and well.

Family members say Rogers hit a tree covered by snow and got stuck.

Sunday night, Cutter posted a “thank you” on Facebook saying, “I can’t imagine what the outcome would’ve been if we wouldn’t have had people praying, volunteers searching, law enforcement working, helicopters on standby, hunters looking and on and on and on.”
