NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – A fatal crash occurred on the morning of Monday, May 24, at around 5:30 a.m. in Los Lunas. The crash involved the collision of a motorcycle and a vehicle on Interstate 25.
According to the investigation, a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on I-25 when it was struck from behind by a Lexus. The driver of the motorcycle, 58-year-old Robert Shepherd, died on the scene.
The driver of the Lexus was unharmed. According to the New Mexico State Police, alcohol did not play a part in the crash.
The southbound lanes of I-25 were closed Wednesday morning due to the crash. They are now back open.
