Chevel Shepherd, a 16-year-old from Farmington, has been crowned the winner of “The Voice.”
The teen was crowned the winner Tuesday night.
Shepherd beat out Chris Kroeze, Kirk Jay and Kennedy Holmes.
According to the Farmington Daily Times, about 1,200 fans showed up to Farmington High School for a watch party.
The event also featured a phone-in from Shepherd, who called from a Burbank, California, soundstage. The teen said she misses friends, family and her teachers.
Shepard has won a recording contract with the Universal Music Group.
