An elk is OK after being rescued from a dry water tank in northern New Mexico.
Game and Fish was called to a property near Raton on Monday about a bull elk stuck in the mud.
The officer and the landowner worked for about two hours before pulling the animal to safety.
After he was free, the elk charged his rescuers.
The Game and Fish officer took it as a sign that he was feeling OK.
