Water levels at Elephant Butte State Park are still falling.
With the lack of snow and rainfall in the Colorado Rockies, Elephant Butte Lake in southern New Mexico is about 18 feet lower compared to last year.
With less water in the lake, park officials may have to close off areas where people usually boat.
Marine Enforcement Officer Jacob Townsend says back in the ’90s the law was 27 miles in length.
Currently it’s sitting at just 10 or 11 miles in length.
