A New Mexico non-profit is helping homeless animals get a second chance in Colorado.

Dozens of dogs and cats from New Mexico arrived in Centennial, Colorado near Denver this week with the help of Carla Herman’s group, “From Forgotten to Forever.”

“It’s tragic. Even the shelters that we work with, there are time limits. And they can’t save them all,” Herman said.

The organization partners with another group “Dog is My Co-pilot.” That group takes unwanted pets from all over the country and flies them to shelters where they might find homes.
