The community has stepped up to help a foster home in Los Lunas after thieves ripped them off.

“I think everyone can kind of relate to having a theft,” says Amy Kindrick of El Ranchito de Los Ninos “I think the crime has gotten pretty bad in Albuquerque so everyone kind of has a story and can feel the pain of an organization when they go through something like this.”

Earlier this month, KRQE News 13 told you how church members at Our Lady of the Annunciation near Wyoming and Menaul packed a van full of hygiene items and cleaning supplies.

They were collecting them for El Ranchito de los Ninos.

Amy Kindrick, who runs the group home, says since people heard about the break-in, they decided to help fill the van back up.

She says businesses all across the Metro, groups, and people on their own, have been stopping by to drop things off.

Kindrick says the donations will hopefully last through the end of the year.
