Community members met Wednesday to discuss the needs of veterans in New Mexico.
Each quarter the state Department of Veteran Services gathers with community leaders to learn how to improve their services.
Groups like the Gold Star Mothers spoke about what local vets and their families need more of.
“It’s to make sure that number one, that those veterans are educated on what they have earned and then to assist them and their families as their needs arise on the benefits they’ve earned from serving our nation,” said Jack Fox of Veteran Services.
Notes from Wednesday’s meeting will be organized and brought to the attention of lawmakers in time for the legislative session in January.
