Two civil rights groups are now suing in federal court over what they’re calling the unlawful detention of a Honduran immigrant.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, the ACLU and the National Immigrant Justice Center say, Nicole Garcia Aguilar, a transgender immigrant, remains at the Cibola County Correctional Center in Milan, New Mexico.

This is despite Garcia Aguilar being granted asylum last October. Immigration authorities have denied her request for release.
