The Santa Fe National Forest is already closed, and now officials with the Cibola National Forest say a closure for them is on their radar.
Right now, the Cibola National Forest is under Stage II restrictions, which means no burning and no off-roading. There is also restricted hours for chainsaw use.
Forest officials say they’re looking constantly at moisture levels, fuel loads and whether people are following the restrictions.
That could be the number one factor in determining if a closure happens.
