An Alamogordo woman did a double take at the response she got after writing to Chick-fil-A, suggesting the chain open a location in her hometown.
Diana Brannon says last week, she and her co-workers were talking about how they wish there was a Chick-fil-A in Alamogordo.
So, she used her Chick-fil-A app to make the suggestion to corporate, saying, “Hello — we need and want a Chick-fil-A in Alamogordo, New Mexico.”
The response she got from a restaurant rep named Chelsie C said, in part, “Thank you for your interest in growing Chick-fil-A internationally.”
“My son, who absolutely loves Chick-fil-A goes, ‘Really mom? Seriously? That’s the answer you got? That’s both sad and hilarious.’ My coworkers, we all had a good laugh and they were sharing times they’ve traveled in the U.S. and outside the U.S. where they’ve gotten the same reaction,” Brannon explained.
KRQE News 13 reached out to Chick-fil-A corporate Sunday night, and a different spokeswoman said the company actually happened to announce its first international location this past week, in Toronto.
Since then it’s received a large volume of requests for international locations.
The woman said Chelsie may have been moving too fast and sent the message in error.
Brannon said she will still eat at Chick-fil-A in the future, and that she doesn’t hold the actions of one person against the entire chain.
