Cattle truck fire kills two cows

New Mexico News

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Two cows were killed when a cattle truck caught fire in Chaves County. The sheriff’s office says it happened early Wednesday morning on Highway 70 after the trailer had a blowout.

The other animals were either put in a pasture or transferred to another trailer while the fire was extinguished. Officials say the highway was shut down while crews put out the fire.
