There was no Labor Day parade in Carlsbad this year and officials say it’s because there wasn’t enough interest.

The parade has been a tradition in Carlsbad for more than 20 years. However, when the time came to put on the parade, the fire department was the only group that showed up.

According to the Current-Argus, city councilors say that people’s attention may have been diverted because of the start of homecoming week at Carlsbad High.

They say the Fourth of July parade had more than 100 entries.
