The Bernalillo County Sheriff weighed in on the debate over the gun control proposals moving through the state legislature.
Sheriff Manny Gonzales says he would support a Second Amendment Sanctuary County. A dozen other counties have already passed sanctuary resolutions. The move is only symbolic showing the county doesn’t agree with some of the proposed gun control laws.
Whether Bernalillo County joins the list will be up to the county commission but Gonzales says there are enough laws on the books that deal with people who should not own guns.
