A Hobbs church was closed Thursday while the archdiocese investigated what many are calling a miracle.
Thousands of worshippers have flocked to the Lady of Guadalupe Church since last Sunday’s mass when there were reports that the statue of the Lady of Guadalupe was weeping.
Now, the archdiocese is trying to determine whether the event could be declared a miracle.
They say they conduct their investigation in a scientific way, even soaking up the “tears” with cotton balls to preserve the evidence.
Worshippers say the tears are oily and smell like roses.
