Alleged hazing incident sparks investigation into Hobbs HS soccer team

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) - An investigation is underway involving the Hobbs High School soccer team.

Hobbs Police and the El Paso Police Department are involved because there was an alleged incident during an away game in Santa Teresa on Aug. 24.

Those involved say that it was an alleged hazing incident on the bus.

All the superintendent will say is that it is an "investigation of code of conduct violations relative to the Hobbs High School boys' soccer program." He goes on to say that because this is an ongoing investigation, they "can't comment on the playing/employment status of our student athletes or coaches."

The Hobbs team forfeited their last game on Sep. 4 in Alamogordo after the alleged incident was reported. They're scheduled to play Artesia, Thursday night.
