A dozen abandoned campfires discovered over Labor Day weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Forest officials would like to remind everyone to put out their campfires.

This comes after the holiday weekend when crews in the Santa Fe National Forest, found at least a dozen abandoned campfires in the Jemez Ranger District.

While numbers are improving these discoveries bring the total for the district to 164 abandoned campfires this year.
