Thirty-eight ducks abandoned at a city park need new homes.

The city of Las Cruces says people have been illegally dumping domestic ducks at Young Park. They say the ducks didn’t migrate there since they can’t fly.

They were removed because crews are draining and cleaning the pond. The ducks are now at the city shelter and up for adoption.

A thousand fish were also relocated to the pond on the NMSU campus.
