This year, the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree will come from the Land of Enchantment.

The tree that will be displayed on the Capitol building’s west lawn will come from the Questa Ranger District in the Carson National Forest. New Mexicans will also have a chance to contribute 10,000 ornaments.

The Forest Service will host several activities throughout the year to make the decorations. The first will be Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Taos Youth and Family Center.
