New Mexico to invest $33.6M in pre-k education


The state will be investing tens of millions of dollars in pre-k education. 

The Public Education Department announced $33.6 million will go towards programs across New Mexico. That’s a $10 million increase from last year. 

The new money will help 11 districts offer pre-k for the first time, including Clovis, Carlsbad and Las Cruces. 

Meanwhile, programs in Albuquerque and Santa Fe are expected to grow.
