News

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A Los Lunas teen, on the road to recovery, got one from one of country music’s biggest stars. Garth Brooks gave a shout out to Kylar Wright, a 17-year-old teen who has been in a fight for his life for the last year. He suffers from a genetic disorder which has caused one complication after another, most of them life threatening.

Wright is recovering at the Colorado Children’s Hospital which was a pit stop for Garth Brooks Wednesday before his big concert series. Brooks helped celebrate the opening of the child life zone, a therapeutic play area at the hospital for patients and their families that his foundation helped fund.

Wrightโ€™s mom was even able to get Brooks to put on a fight for Kylar bracelet that friends have created. As for Kylar, he’s working toward getting home, he was recently moved from ICU.
