New Mexico teachers get extension on reading skills test

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The state is giving teachers an extension to test reading skills for kids with a new system.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the state is switching over to a computer based program called Istation to test literacy for kids from kindergarten through third grade.

The new system saves money, costing $600,000. The old system cost $1.3 million.
