LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State University is warning about a text scam targeting students.

The text tells students they have been selected for a part time job and asks them to respond to a Gmail address and provide a non-university email address and cell phone number.

The university reminds students never to respond to unsolicited messages.

Students can also remove their phone numbers from the university directory for privacy.
