New Mexico receives $4M education grant

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The state is getting millions of dollars to help struggling schools.

The Public Education Department has announced a nearly $4 million federal grant.

The state plans to distribute the money based on need and a demonstrated commitment to student achievement.

The PED will start taking applications from both public and charter schools in September.

New Mexico is among only a small number of states to receive the grant.
