New Mexico program allows for voluntary surrender of those with warrants

News

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – If you have a warrant for your arrest, maybe for a traffic violation, New Mexico State Police says now is the time to surrender.

The state is conducting “Operation Safe Surrender” through the month of March. It will give people the chance to voluntarily turn themselves in without being arrested at home in front of their families.

There are more than 80,000 active warrants in New Mexico.
