LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – It’s a good year for New Mexico pecan farmers. Crops are pulling in record prices.

A federal report shows the price paid for a common variety of pecans is about $3 per pound. The Western Pecan Growers Association said problems experienced by farmers in the southeastern U.S. has reduced the supply, boosting the prices for other farmers including those in New Mexico.
