New Mexico nurses promote Men’s Health Month

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – June is the national month to bring awareness to Men’s Health.

Laura Valdez, RN and Dani Danzer, RN, joined KRQE’s This Morning team to discuss the importance of men’s health and how simple they are making it for them to get answers with out at trip to the doctor.

New Mexico is the only state in the country to have a nurse line service. NurseAdvice NM is a 24/7 nurses hotline to help assist with medical, behavioral, and social health needs.

While this helps reduce unnecessary Emergency Room visits, it also makes it easier for men, who typically do not like to go to the doctor, to get medical questions answered, not only quickly, but also anonymously.

This hotline also helps to expand capacity for emergency preparedness across NM and facilitates practitioner recruitment and retention, particularly in rural areas by providing after-hours relief for providers.

NurseAdvice NM provides one toll free number for access to registered nurses 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The number is (877)-725-2552.
