NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico has been deemed the safest state for older drivers.
According to Caring.com, New Mexico is one of 31 states with stricter rules for older drivers requiring more frequent renewals starting at age 75.
Nine percent of people killed in crashes here are 65 or older. That age group makes up 15 percent of New Mexico’s population.
The most dangerous state according to the website is listed as Rhode Island.
