New Mexico Lottery launches First Powerball Millionaire of the Year contest

The New Mexico Lottery is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Lottery players can enter for a chance to become the First Powerball Millionaire of the Year and the chance to attend Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve event next year. As part of the promotion, ten New Mexico winners will be picked to take a trip for two to New York City to celebrate the new year in Times Square.

In order to enter the promotion, players must purchase at least $6 in Powerball plays on a single ticket to receive an entry coupon. The serial number from their coupon must then be entered on the promotion entry site at

The deadline to enter is September 30, 2019. Four separate drawings will take place.

Winners get airfare for two, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, tickets to a Broadway show, dinner on the Hudson River cruise and additional spending money. On New Year’s Eve, the winners will also have a private viewing area to watch the ball drop in Times Square. The First Powerball Millionaire of the Year will be drawn right after midnight.
