New Mexico governor ends state hiring freeze

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The governor is ending a state hiring freeze. The move was enacted back in March to save money. It came during the standoff between the governor and lawmakers over the budget. The governor’s office says it’s lifting the hiring freeze because the state financial situation is looking better. There had also been talk of possible furlough days. The governor’s office says that’s off the table for now.
