ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico drivers are being encouraged to sign-up to be organ donors this month.
That’s because April is “National Donate Life” month.
Wednesday at the Motor Vehicle Department near San Mateo and Montgomery, 10-year-old Kade Heflin-Webber spoke to potential donors.
He needed a liver transplant when he was just 9-months-old.
“Do it because it saves lives and like someone you known like maybe gets sick and then you could like donate your organs and then it could save their life,” said Kade.
Kade’s aunt gave half of her liver to save his life. Something he says he hopes more people will do.To become a donor, click here >>
