This weekend is your last chance to visit one of Albuquerque’s longest running craft fairs.
After nearly 60 years, the New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair is calling it quits because of funding woes.
Organizers say the economy has made it tough to get grants in recent years, and the fair is struggling to compete with the growing number of arts events around town.
Still, organizers wanted to make sure people had one last chance to get a look at the fair’s unique offerings.
“Because we wanted to go out with a bang, this is probably the best event I’ve seen in the last 25 years,” Ron Behrmann said.
The fair runs Friday and Sunday at Expo New Mexico.
